Day two of the challenge.

I hit five different tot lots today. The Totals for today are,1 Sacajawea, Q-21, D-19, N-9, P-71 for $9.31. Which makes the total for the challenge Q-39, D-28, N-17, P-99 for $15.39. So far i've got almost two rolls of pennies, and one roll of quarters. I'll need to come up with 1-Q, 22-D, 23-N, and no pennies. It's going to be tough, but we're heading to Tahoe Sunday, hopefully I can clean up the beach, and maybe get some gold too.

The four roll challenge!

I was recently thinking about finding all four major rolls of coin in one day. Only $17.50, but that would make for a great day. Then I got to thinking about how much I would actually end up with, if I kept track. So that's what I'm going to do. I think it's too hot here to find them all in one day, so I'm going to try to get them all this weekend. I started last night after work, and the total so far is. Q-18, D-9, N-8, P-28. No surprise pennies took the early lead, I was shocked at the lack of dimes though. I'll post again with updates. If you want to take the challenge with me, leave a comment with your results. I would love to hear them.

Quick hunt before work. Scary Ring

Went to a park before work today. Found this ring that gave me quite a scare. After I turned my plug, I could see gold peeking through the edge of the hole. I spun it around my finger a few times before I realized it was fake. I also found a little clad, and a cool skull valve stem cap. Total coins 25 @ .82 not too bad.

Quick soccer field hunt.

Went out for a quick hunt. Hunted the sidelines of a soccer field. Ended up with five coins @ .38. Popped a 1944 wheat from just under the grass, probably a recent drop, but a nice surprise.

Two Tot Lots, 151 Coins!!!! $9.45

With a rare day off to myself, I planned on an all day clad fest. I went to my first spot and found 139 coins @ $7.95 . It was so hot that I started to feel sick. I drank a bottle of water, and took a break in the shade. It didn't help, so I hit 7/11, drank a vitamin water with potassium, and headed to my next spot. I could only handle the heat for a short time. Ended up with 12 coins @ $1.50. It was still a great day for clad, but I would've liked to of hit a couple more lots. Oh well, I guess I'm getting old! First Post

So far my Metal Detecting totals are, 4,083 coins for a total of $289.20. I have found two silver dimes, and a 1907 Indian Head Penny. I have found 11 pieces of gold, four of which were rings. 13 pieces of assorted .925 silver jewelery. I use an Ace 250, a pro-pointer, a Lesche digger, and Killer B headphones. I like to metal detect almost anywhere. I usually don't detect in the winter due to hunting. I like to fly fish when possible as well. My best find so far is a 14.4 gram 14k gold ring with 5 diamonds. I had the diamonds put into a ring for my wife.
